Well, my wonderful idea to keep in touch with family and friends fizzled (as you can probably tell from the lack of posts!). Life as a mom and teacher, team leader and student has kept me too busy to do much else. Things are winding down now. School is out in two weeks and I am definitely ready for a vacation.
School has been crazy. Sixth graders go nuts in the spring! And my family back in Washington has had some health scares, so I have felt like lately I have had more stress than I can possibly handle. Even now, I am writing this when I should be working on my "Differentiating Reading Instruction" class or working on some paperwork for retention meetings on Monday. Why do now what you can put off for later, right? That's actually not my philosophy at all. I strive to finish things quickly so I can move on. But occasionally I feel paralyzed by the amount of work facing me, and I just have to metaphorically "run away" for a bit. Sometimes I go shopping; sometimes I surf the net; sometimes I play solitaire. Anything to turn my brain off. This is one of those times!
